C.S. Osborne #142 is a small “palm awl haft” handle, not a blade; it’s a lacquered hardwood handle with a steel chuck that holds interchangeable awl blades and is shaped to nest in the palm for pushing stitches through leather, canvas, and upholstery work.  

Steel chuck/wrench is included so you can tighten and change awl blades/needles with ease. Accepts Osborne blades such as the No. 140‑A sewing awl blade and similar.
